COMPUTRIZATION/AUTOMATION OF OPERATIONS IN RAMETI SCHOOLS
Introduction
Societies are becoming increasingly transformed through the use of technology as a tool. The knowledge of Information and Communication Technology in every aspect of our society today has become so crucial that any society that ignores acquisition of skills and knowledge and the application of ICT in improving and facilitating operations and activities of man will be left behind on the Super Highway of development using ICT as a tool.

Schools are equally undergoing major transformations as classrooms are moving progressively from the traditional structure to a digital learning environment. The teacher of the 21st Century should be able to use ICT to improve on the quality of education cannot be overemphasized.

2. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has provided wider and greater opportunities to access information, collaborate with people all over the world, and has also created new strategies for teaching and learning.

3. Assessment and assemblage of data as well as organization and interpretation of data, has been made much easier through the use of computers.

4. With the use of ICT, learners and teachers are more meaningfully engaged in activities both inside and outside the classroom thus making learning more enjoyable, interesting and meaningful.

5. The benefits of technology in the school system and particularly in the classroom are enormous. Teachers need to be aware of this and harness these benefits to enhance their capability and facilitate teaching and learning.

6. Parents equally need to be aware of the need to assist their children at home, by providing a rich environment so that the children can transfer what they learn in the school to the happenings at home.

7. In line with our Vision to raise children with sound intellectual, moral, scientific, entrepreneurial skills and technological capabilities to meet the demands of contemporary society, we have deliberately provided opportunities to expose both our teachers and pupils to computer applications so as to equip and keep them abreast of the present technological demands in all spheres of life.

8. Today Computer Based Test (CBT) is used in almost all examinations such as JAMB, Aptitude Tests, Promotion examinations etc.

9. In public places, the use of Automated Teller Machines (ATM), purchase of goods and payment for services using Point Of Sales (POS) machines are a common practice. Online purchases, use of cell phones in communication and the current cashless society is a feature of the contemporary society.
10. At RAMETI Schools:

Computer Education is now a major component of the school curriculum at all levels in the school. RAMETI Schools Management Information System (RSMIS) has been developed to keep a comprehensive database of both staff and pupils.

More computers have been purchased,
A software developer has been engaged and a Local Area Network (LAN) for the school has been developed. With effect from 1st Term of 2019/2020 academic session, results of all pupils were fully automated via RAMETI SCHOOL Management Information System so as to eliminate the manual processing of results, which often demands a lot of human efforts and time by the teacher. Henceforth, results shall be documented and processed immediately after examinations.

A website has been created for RAMETI Schools www.rametischools.com.ng. Sooner than later all results will be uploaded and parents will be required to check and print their children's results online. Parents will now conveniently sit in the comfort of their homes and access the learners results. It will also facilitate the transition of parents who are not yet literate from analog to the digital world wits its demand for digital literacy. Parents will also appreciate better the efforts of RAMETI Schools in raising the technological skills of the learners.
